  1. With that kind of scenery and fishing to boot…. I can’t understand why you would want to come north and fight the crowds. All the best….?keep swigging!

  2. Hi Jay – long time follower of the blog from up the coast here in Vancouver, BC. Just wondering if you can comment on whether or not it’s possible and/or worthwhile to try walk/wade around the estuaries in Tillamook Bay. The wife and I are considering a trip down to the Portland area and am trying to scheme a day on the water while I’m there…

Any insight would be much appreciated. Feel free to email me directly. Keep up the great work!

    1. Sorry, no Spring Chinook down here. What few fish we have are dark and may only be caught on Crank Baits and rubber worms. Really.

      1. Hi Jay, It’s the thrill of the hunt of a wild Oregon salmon that lures me all the way back into the Willamette/Mckenzie or Alsea. The fishermen & managers of ODFW should feel abliged to
maintaining a sustainable wild habitat for your native nooks and their relatives. If anyone wants to know what its like NOT to have a wild salmon below the surface under your fly then come Down Under into Australian not so blessed waters. You all have something…
